First, verification is annual for most retail weighing instruments. The stamp carries the date; when it lapses, the instrument is no longer legal for trade.
Second, your weight set needs verification too. A verified scale used with unverified weights still fails inspection.
Third, keep the certificate at the shop. Inspectors ask for the paper, not just the stamp on the instrument.
Fourth, get repairs verified again. Any instrument that has been opened, repaired or recalibrated must be re-verified before use in trade.
Fifth, book early. Festive season brings a rush; scheduling a month before your due date avoids trading with a lapsed stamp.
